After a good night's rest in Thunder Bay, we started our trek back south into the United States. We again encountered rain as we traveled the North Shore. The scenery was beautiful as we skirted the coastline of Lake Superior. After our 4th time thru customs we stopped in Grand Marquis to relax and warm up a little, shop and then back on the road to Duluth. Keith & Jeanette wanted us to experience the old waterfront area of Duluth, and boy are we glad we did. Lots of neat old warehouse structures all transformed into a very trendy atmosphere. The whole area is called the "Grandma's" area ( I don't know why) but as we approached it we soon discovered there was alot of traffic detours and closed streets. The annual Grandma's Marathon run was going on when we got there and it was an extremly crowded day in town.

We parked the bikes and car and walked about 10 blocks down into the grandma's area to see the final runners complete the marathon and we found a neat sports grill to eat lunch, then walked to the docks and watched the bridge raise & lower to allow some boats thru.
At this point, Keith & Jeanette decided to part company and head for home. We continued on our journey south as well, and after arriving in Faribault, MN around 8:30 PM we found good lodging, then rode into downtown Faribault for a light supper and ice cream.
